My 18yo son and I traveled around Thailand for 3 weeks and spent our last two days in Bangkok. The Riva Arum is a beautiful, clean, stylish property within the perfect location. However what makes this place off the chart great is it’s staff! I’ll say it again, the staff at the Riva is among the best, most helpful group of people in all of Thailand - they even walk and push the button to the elevator (not needed or expected but illustrates their complete attention to details) . Bangkok is an amazing city with way to many different places/things to do and see. Everyone at the Riva Arun bent over backwards to helped us pick out, navigate and figure out correct transport prices. Without their help we couldn’t have done 1/2 the things we did. Lastly and so amazing, we had a 3am flight out of BKK; they stored our bags off course BUT! When we arrived to collect our bags at 10pm they offered us a room to shower in, with no additional fee saying, they simply had an extra room tonight so “please feel free to have a shower” What a huge plus. Love this hotel and it’s amazing staff. Thanks Riva Arum

Good: Das Gebiet war Abends sehr ruhig. Die Lage für Besichtigungen zum Wat Pho, Wat Arun und Grand Palace war super. Nebenan gab es eine gute Möglichkeit sich massieren zu lassen. Durch die Lage am Fluss war auch die Innenstadt und weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu erreichen. Zudem gab es viele gute Frühstücksmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Bad: Die Zimmer waren sehr klein, sodass man nie wusste wohin mit dem Koffer. Es gab keine richtige Möglichkeit den Koffer auszupacken. Es waren (außer dem Bett) keine Sitzmöglichkeit im Zimmer vorhanden. Morgens beginnt recht früh der Lärm von den umliegenden (Groß-)Händlern. Die Rooftop Bar/Restaurant hat nur wenige Tische und Sitzplätze und war immer ausgebucht. Die umliegenden Restaurants schließen recht früh (teilweise 19:00 Uhr), sodass man sich frühzeitig um Abendessen Gedanken machen musste
Good: The Riva Arun excells in customer friendliness. Care for the guests is very good. Staff are going out of their way to satisfy all your needs. The location is superb. Right on the river with view on Wat Arun. Also the area is filled with lovely eating places and coffee shops. And right on all the other sights of down town. Really a very lovely time! Bad: There was no pool

Good: La situation exceptionnelle au milieu des temples et du Grand Palace. On pouvait tout faire à pieds. Une chambre très belle avec un lit ultra-confortable et vue sur le Wat Pho. Depuis le salon vue directe sur le Wat Arun et le fleuve. A deux pas d'une station de bateaux. Un tuyau : utiliser les service HOP-HOF des TUK TUK, c'est génial et pas cher! Bad: Les repas (y.c. petit déj.) sur la magnifique terrasse sont trop chers. C'est l'unique point faible
Stunning hotel in the middle of all of the action in Bangkok. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed in a studio room that was facing the river and we could see Wat Pho from our room. The bed was also extremely comfortable after amour long journey to Bangkok. The restaurant in the rooftop also had incredible views of all of the wats during the day and at night. It’s a great place to get a quick bite and a drink

Awesome view from the terrace, not very expensive (around 150 bahts for the main course), very good food and service. I highly recommend this place (apparently reservation is necessary in the evening)
Good: Staff were friendly. The view from the jacuzzi bath at sunset over the Chao Prya River and Temple of Dawn was amazing. We ordered room service, tho menu was limited, food was very good. Hotel located in a quaint part of old Bangkok, very charming. Short ride to Chinatown. We will definately return. Bad: Nothing major. The glass doors to the bath and toilet were really heavy so if you are petite, might struggle with it. Will score the experience 4.5 for now but I would give it full marks at 5 if their amenities had been more plushy - better quality toilet rolls and bathrobes to complete a luxurious experience
Good: Juwel am Fluß, schönes, etwas kleines(aber das war uns bekannt und ok) Zimmer, tolle Lage direkt am Fluß. Wir hatten ein günstiges Zimmer ohne Flußblick, gibt wohl noch größere/bessere. Frühstück und Sundowner mit Blick auf den Chao Phrya - gegessen haben wir nicht dort, sah aber ok aus. SEHR freundliches Personal- selbst für Thailand (wo eigentlich alle freundlich sind). Preis dafür günstig. Lange vorher gebucht - sicer eine gute Idee! Bad: Klimaanlage eher unsensibel einzuregeln, Frost oder zu warm- haben intermittierend gekühlt, damit ok

Good: The location is amazing, within minutes of temples, restaurants and local shopping. Awesome staff “Toby” went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and safe he is a rockstar!! Bad: We thought we got a room looking to the Wat Arun temple when we booked here(I mean those were the photos that were shown to us on the site but we didn’t. That was a bummer but other than that everything was great!
ワットアルンのライトアップを満喫したく、こちらのホテルに宿泊しましたた。少し脇道に入ったところにあります。わたしの乗ったタクシードライバーさんは場所がわからないようだったので、ホテルの電話番号を伝え、ドライバーさんから、ホテルに電話して場所を確認してもらいました。ホテルから1分くらいの場所にセブンイレブンがあります。あの近辺で買い物するのは、そのセブンイレブン1件しかありません。王宮エリアなので基本的に土産専門店しかありません。しかし、コーヒーの美味しいカフェ（elefin coffee)や、マンゴースイーツ店（make me mango）がホテルから3分くらいの場所にあります。またホテルの並びには、ワットポーマッサージスクールがあり、そこにはマッサージ店も併設されています。ホテルの屋上レストランは夜は王宮とアルンのライトアップが見えて絶景です。価格はバンコクにしてはお高いほうですが、味は大変美味しいです。メニューの他に、タブレットでお料理の写真も見ることができます。このレストランは宿泊者以外も利用できます。有名なレストランデッキよりも、ずっと落ち着けると思います！わたしは次回タイに行ったら、このホテルの最上階（バルコニーにジャグジー付いてる部屋）に必ず泊まるつもりです。
Good: Sehr gute Lage für Tempelbesuche, gerade gegenüber von Wat Arun gelegen (Fähre für 4 Baht), ca. 300 m von Wat Po entfernt, auch der grosse Palast und Wat Pra Keo fussläufig erreichbar. Schöne Aussicht vom Restaurant im 6. Stock. Schöne Zimmer, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Bad: Anbindung an den öffentlichen Verkehr war nicht ideal. Fähre zu Wat Arun, dann Expressboot auf Chao Praya bis Sathorn, dort umsteigen auf den Skytrain. Sonst Taxis nötig
Good: Отличная гостиница, место супер, в двух шагах от королевского дворца, с видом на реку. Пусть вас не пугает вид переулковн а гугле где она находится. Внутри все очень достойно, номер стильный. За изголовьем кровати сделана большая столешница с рукомойниками. На крыше имеется милый ресторанчик. Ужин нам не очень понравился, до и дороговато, но виды прекрасны. Особо мило было получить именную открытку (написанную вручную, а не напечатанную) с пожеланиями от персонала. Bad: Немного неудобно сделан санузел: фактически как встроенный шкаф с раздвижными дверьми, и шторка между душем и туалетом неполностью перекрывает водный поток ))) ((
Good: Очень приветливый персонал, готовый всегда услужить и даже проводить по городу (мы спросили, где пристань). Номер с видом из окна на храм и реку, комфортный, чистый, в меру просторный. В ресторане на крыше готовят очень вкусно, вокруг панорамный вид на город, реку, храмы. Bad: Нет такого

Hotel staff was friendly. Rooms are smaller than expected, but clean and comfortable. We only had one night in Bangkok so the small room did not bother us much. Room had a great view of Wat Arun
The Riva Arun is a gem in the old town of Bangkok. The views (from both the rooms and the restaurant/bar are second to none. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the restaurant serves great food. As a first-time traveler to Bangkok, we could not have been happier with our choice of the Riva Arun Bangkok!
Good: What a great hotel it was a real surprise. Are room had the most amazing view of the temple across the river. The room was amazing and the bed Wow big and super comfy . The staff are especially friendly and help a lot . Love love love. I will definitely be back ?

There is no shortage of hotels in Bangkok and there are many in every category. Having stayed at the Peninsula for many years we choose a different route this time, booking in the Riva Arun which sits right at the Chao Phraya river, right opposite of the Wat Arun and steps away from Wat Poh and the King’s Palace. Taxi and Tuk Tuk Drivers usually find it, better though to take an AOT-limousine from the airport, just to be sure. Getting around from there can be a bit tricky. A good bet in order to get to Sukumvit or Silom is the express boat on the river to the Taksin Bridge skytrain station (almost a fun ride by itself) or a tuk tuk for closer-by places. Currently, metro and skytrain stations are not close, but it looks like a new metro line is to be opened soon with the station not more than 200 meters away, this will make the location even more attractive. China town (for late night street food) or the flower market for 24-hour flower shopping is not far away. The hotel is surrounded by many smaller cafés and restaurants, most of them excellent (i.e. the Err) although many close relatively early as tourist are leaving the temple area. The hotel features a rooftop restaurant and bar. This is also where breakfast is served, there you can enjoy your coffee with breathtaking view of the river and the city. All rooms seem to face the river, three rooms have a large terrace with whirlpool. Sitting outside and watching the river is one of the most interesting things you can do in Bangkok. At night, it gets almost eerily quiet. There is no pool, but you can use a nice riverfront pool at the sister property called Riva Surya which is not far from Riva Arun. The rooms are not huge, but there is everything you need. There is no separate bathroom, but the shower and WC can be closed, of course. If there is one drawback, the aircon, even in sleep-mode, is very noisy. We had to switch it off during the night (not ideal in Bangkok, especially during the hotter season). Also, the aircon turns off when you take out the key card (and replacing it with another card does not work) rendering the place sweltering hot during the day. It may the take a while to cool down. Try to keep it running. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, transportation worked perfectly as well as housekeeping. And we received a good-bye card, a small special thing

Good: Very good location, walking distance to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, plus some nice cafes and restaurants around. Loved having breakfast with a view of the river and Wat Arun. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Bad: Room was a bit too tight
My husband and I started our honeymoon in this hotel and overall enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the staff was very attentive and kind. When we asked for a dinner recommendation to celebrate my husband’s birthday, they left him a card, balloons, and cake in our room. The location to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun cannot be beaten—both are short walks, which really matters when it’s so hot outside. There are lovely breakfast and lunch spots within a 2 or 3 block radius, all on the way to the major attractions. The bed was comfortable and the AC and WiFi were both great. A couple of things I’d mention as areas of improvement or things to note.... 1) Our room was quite small. The bed takes up most of the room, and the shower/toilet area is a rectangle large enough to suit its needs but is by no means luxurious. The biggest downside for us was that there was nowhere to really sit down in the room other than the bed. After a long, sweaty day at the temples, we did not want to dirty our linens by sitting or lying on them, so one of us sat on the floor and the other on a small stool to relax in the afternoons before dinner. Some days we just took a shower and a nap before dinner, but that wasn’t always ideal. 2) This neighborhood is very lively during the day, but almost closes down with the temples. That makes finding a walkable dinner spot pretty difficult. Certainly plan to leave the neighborhood for dinner. 3) As others have mentioned, the rooftop restaurant is beautiful and the staff is gracious, but the food is overpriced. We enjoyed our meal, but also enjoyed meals elsewhere that cost 1/4 of what we spent here. 4) Like others, our room’s view left something to be desired. I think we were looking at a roof above an alley. It didn’t matter much to us, though. Just something to note in your reservation if you’re really hoping for a room with a view. If you have a couple of days in Bangkok and want to hit the major sites, this hotel is a great pick
호텔은 아주 깨끗했고 저녁에 창가로 보이는 새벽 사원은 어주 아름 다웠습니다. 허지만 건너편 식당에서 우리 침실이(1층 이었음)그대로 보이는 부담감은 감수해야 합니다. 카오산로드까지 걸어 다니는데 문제 없었습니다. 숙소 근처에서 아침으로 먹은 죽과 밥은 정말 맛있었고 저녁에 먹은 꼬치는 잊을 수 없은 맛이었습니다. 호텔 조식과 저녁은 이용하지 않아 평가를 못하겠습니다. 다만 방콕 중심지에서 떨어진 관계로 대중 교통을 이용한 이동에는 약간의 불편함을 감수해야 했습니다. 다음 번에는 나이가 나이인지라 교통이 편한 곳을 먼저 고려해야겠습니다
The lobby is pretty small. They serve you flower tea when you come in. There is no pool, but one is offered at their “sister” location. The view from the hotel is beautiful if you stay on fourth or 5th floor. The staff is pretty nice. Close to grand palace and Koah San Road. More for lovers type.. came here with my mom and they put us in a Lovers suit.. awk.. with one bed.. again awk. Prices are super expensive Bc it’s a hotel. Best part is the view from the restaurant upstairs

We chose this hotel as, having stayed on the outskirts of Bangkok before, we wanted to be closer to the old part of the city. Riva Arun is right on the river and virtually next door to the King's Palace. It's main appeal was the stunning view of Wat Arun from it's roof terrace, which is spectacular by day and night. As previously mentioned, the rooms are a little small, which didn't bother us for the couple of nights we were there, although it was quite difficult to know what to do with our luggage. We also noted that the many lovely restaurants and cafes in the area closed before dinner time, obviously due to the area being far busier in the day-time with tourists visiting the temples. Unfortunately, there was a problem and the hotel had no water for part of the time we were there but we were offered a limo to the sister hotel for a shower. Overall, the hotel was beautiful; the breakfast very good and the staff were lovely - we would happily stop there again. Thank you Riva Arun!

We stayed the final night of our Thailand/Cambodia holiday at the Riva Arun. Having flown in from Cambodia we were looking for something a wee bit special for the last evening. The corner room (Junior Suite) had stunning views across the Choa Phraya river to Wat Arun. The room was small with the centrally positioned bed taking up most of the floor area it was however well appointed with patio doors to a very small terrace which was standing room only. Not sure that I would want to stay for more than 2 or 3 days. The roof top bar/restaurant offered a stunning night time panorama of the city which would be hard to beat at any price. We had planned to go out to eat but stayed the whole evening taking in the views and watching the boat traffic. The location is ideal for visiting the Royal Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun (4 Bhat ferry ride) and more. There are good cafes and restaurants in the local vicinity. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only downsides were the size of the room and that I personally found the food over westernized with local dishes given an Italian accent, although my wife loved her meal. Still, thoroughly recommended

Good: This was a great place to end our trip to Thailand. The room was perfect and the view was amazing. The rooftop restaurant was a pleasant surprise as we weren't expecting it to be as amazing as it was. Breakfast every morning was wonderful and we ate dinner there both nights. The food and view was just way too good to pass up. Definitely a "hidden" gem in Bangkok. Bad: It was a bit difficult finding a Taxi or Tuktuk that knew where the hotel was located - but once we got through the language barrier, we were good to go!

Was a great location, staff was exceptional, we were there during the water festival and we ate on the rooftop restaurant and joined in the floating of floral display with lit candles. The 3 top sightseeing stops are walking distance. Water 2 times was off but the staff offered free breakfast
This is a beautifully appointed boutique hotel with amazing vista of the chao phraya. The room is compactly done up with high end bedding and linen. The rooftop restaurant has spanning views - hence the need to make reservations. Just across the road is a Michelin star Thai restaurant offering good local delights. A great overnight for the Bangkok Marathon which we participated. Lots of good quality bustling cafes very close by
Excellent Thai dishes so flavorful and delicious . Have not had such great Thai food in a while . The view from rooftop is worthwhile .Would recommend this especially to those who are used to spicy stuff
We absolutely loved our corner room with spectacular views of Wat Arun and life on the river. The rooftop restaurant is great for an evening beer, morning coffee with views! This neighborhood is super hip with cutesy cafes tucked away and other nice restaurants in walking distance. Plus Wat Pho and the palace are basically across the street. Definitely use the river water bus to get around

Walking distance to the grand palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun is a mins boat ride across the river. Bad: Not a lot of restaurants open after 8pm in the area But it’s worth going elsewhere for that given what you get with this place

Персонал заслуживает особых похвал - очень доброжелательный и отзывчивый! В номере было очень чисто и уютно. Bad: Единственный недочёт - это кондиционер. У нас был номер studio, очень уютный, но кондиционер , в силу своего расположения, дум прямо на кровать, а с регулировка мы не справились:(
A boutique 4 star along the Bangkok river, close to WAT Arun, wat Pho and grand palace, 7/11 shop. But very far from city central, just a night to exprience. The services are ok with 4 star. I like the bar and restaurant in front of Wat Arun

Good: Wir sind um 8h morgens vollkommen übermüdet vom langen Flug im Hotel angekommen und haben sofort die Option bekommen, ob wir ein Zimmer um 9h im 1. Stock oder erst zu Mittag im 4.Stock haben wollen. (wir haben uns für das um 9h entschieden). Unsere Angst bis zum Nachmittag durchhalten zu müssen, war also vollkommen unbegründet. Auch das Angebot uns noch in Ruhe umziehen zu können bis das Zimmer fertig ist, ist absolut positv hervorzuheben. Die Zimmer bieten den notwendigen Komfort und alles was man braucht, sind sauber und gut in Schuss. Egal ob man schon öfter oder zum ersten Mal in dieser Stadt ist, es ist der perfekte Einstieg. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilft einem wo es nur geht

왓아룬 야경을 위해 예약한 호텔이예요! 방에서 야경을 밤새 볼 수 있다는게 최대 장점이자, 그것말고는 주변에 밤에 놀거리가 부족하다는게 단점이네요. 다만 왓포사원도 가깝고 세븐일레븐도 가깝고 근처 로컬식당도 많아서 전혀 불편함은 없었어요

Good: Their room is very big included a living room and an outdoor jacuzzi. The river view is amazing especially in the evening. It was my fiancee's birthday so I contacted them before arrival for cake and flowers. The cake is free and it's very delicious. They helped me to surprise her by putting the cake and flowers in the room when we were out. They also prepared the Jacuzzi. Wonderful services. Bad: no air-condition in the corridor which is a bit hot

Staff were pleasant and welcoming, great company when you’re a solo traveller too! Views are amazing from the terrace, food is great too 10/10! Had a very enjoyable time, staff are also so helpful and the room was great and my room overlooked Wat Arun! Beautiful! They gave me a thank you card upon departure which I thought was a lovely touch! (Don’t get that in England ;)!)

Good: das Hotel befindet sich in der Altstadt am Chao Praya mit Blick auf Wat Arun. Alle anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten können bequem zu Fuß oder mit der Ferry erreicht werden. Das Personal ist herausragend nett und kompetent , Khlongfahrt, TukTuk alles wird organisiert. Das Ambiente des Hotels ist sehr schön, ein Erholungsort nach den anstrengenden Besichtigungen. Die Dachterasse bietet gute Mahlzeiten und leckere Coctails zu jeder Tageszeit. Wir hatten das Glück ein upgrade auf eine Suite mit Terrasse zu bekommen, ein Traum, abends wurde der private Pool mit Kerzen beleuchtet und im Wasser schwammen Orchideenblüten- einfach toll

My mom and I had a wonderful stay at Riva Arun Bangkok! The breakfast was incredible, the views from the rooftop restaurant were beautiful, and the room was small but had everything we needed. The hotel was clean and the staff were so friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again next time I come to Bangkok!

The Riva Arun is in a fabulous location and the view from the hotel terrace and most of the rooms is fantastic. On top of that, the staff are wonderful. They are charming, helpful and genuinely friendly. The only thing missing is a pool, but that is available for free at the twinned Riva Surya which is only a £1 taxi ride away. Best of all, the hotel is located close to the Wat Arun temple and the Grand Palace, and within easy walking distance of the numerous markets including the flower market and Chinese Market, and river piers with easy access to water buses, water taxis and long tailed boats for trips to the Khlongs. There are numerous traditional restaurants in the local area at Thai and not tourist prices. I really cannot imagine why anybody would prefer to stay in one of the larger hotels in the city centre, which could be in almost any city anywhere. If you want a calm and civilized place to stay, with the atmosphere and character of Thailand close at hand, the Riva Arun is the place to stay
An excellent deal and a lovely stay in Bangkok. The staff was very courteous and friendly, and the room was excellent and had an amazing view of Wat Arun across the river. The shower was unexpectedly nice and the A/C was perfect in the sweltering heat of Bangkok. Highly recommended!!

Good: The location is fantastic, and the view from the restaurant terrace and our room was just fabulous. The hotel was within comfortable walking distance of all the major venues we wanted to visit, and to the ferry terminals and long tailed boat tours on the river and khlongs. Even travelling by taxi to use the swimming pool at the twinned Riva Surya hotel cost only about 40 baht (£1). There are no other hotels close by, so what the Riva Arun hotel has to offer is unique. Added to all that, the staff were friendly, helpful and charming. I will be thoroughly recommending this hotel to my friends. The photo I have attached is of the view from my bed approaching sunset. Bad: Not that easy to find. Ask taxi drivers for the Tha Thien ferry terminal (directly opposite the Wat Arun temple on the other side of the river) which is about a 5 minute walk away
